Another busy evening for the club, as club members fought it out for the title of Club Champion. The format was a Poule Unique, 5 hits, 3 minutes max per bout, and competition-style scoring against 'Total Victories', tied places being decided on Hits Scored minus Hits Received indicators.

It was the 35th outing for the O'Sullivan Cup, and with 17 entrants (including 3 from Jersey), there was loads of action and an exciting fence-off for second place.

Congratulations to Sameer Sunder-Rajan for securing individual silver at the 2024 European Cadet Championships.
Ending a brilliant 2024 season ranked European No.1, Sameer has also won 2 EFC Cadet events in Novi Sad and Klagenfurt en route to the Euros.

Whitchurch Fencing Club held an Open Air Epee match on Sunday, 23 June, in Coity Castle. A very closely fought and exciting event. It was a Poule Unique of 8 fencers (so with a maximum score of 7 victories), and at the end of the match, three fencers had six victories - so the placing was decided on ‘Indicators’, with only 1 point separating second & third places !

We are planning to run the Welsh Vet National Championships 2024 over the weekend of 5/6 October. The venue will be the Cardiff Academy of Fencing.
