Selection Process
We asked for Expressions of Interest from fencers to support our planning and approach to this event. Not all fencers expressing their interest will have been selected, and we understand there may some disappointment. The selectors are happy to provide feedback to you individually if requested.
Whilst the EOI form has been useful, we have followed the published selection policy in selecting the above fencers.

Next Steps
Each of the selected fencers will receive an email confirming your selection. You can either decline or accept your place. In eaither case, please respond as soon as possible, but no later than 14th February. Each member of the team will be required to pay a contribution of £500 to support the cost of the trip.

Selection is only confirmed on receipt of the contribution payment.
Please note the following
- payment to be made via Stripe. A range of payment options are supported by Stripe, and your card details are not shared with Welsh Fencing;
- if the event is cancelled, the payment will be refunded in full, directly back to the card used for payment;
- if a fencer is selected for multiple events, they will only be required to make ONE payment;
- if a fencer subsequently withdraws from the event, your contribution will be refunded in full
Welsh Fencing have committed to cover cost of entries, merchandise and cost difference to cover team management and referee costs

Important Notes for Fencers
- This is a Senior event, and, as such, you will be required to organise your flights into and out of the Country, ensuring you arrive the day befor Weapons Check.
- A VISA is required for entry to Nigeria
- Yellow Fever vacinnation is needed for entry to Nigeria
- Hotel is on a twin room basis
- Advise on risks for Nigeria and the need for suitable insurance for the trip and to cover costs in case of last minute changes/cancellations
- Schedule for arrivals will be shared
